Arrive in Vancouver and explore BC's largest city. Enjoy a Vancouver
city tour or a tour of Capilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain.
Vancouver has a great arts district, numerous shops and malls and
Stanley Park with the Vancouver Aquarium, wonderful beaches and
miles of walking and biking trails.
Vancouver Island is one of the most beautiful areas of BC. Enjoy
the picturesque 1-½ hour ferry ride to Vancouver Island.
The first stop off the ferry will be the capital city of BC, Victoria,
with its British colonial heritage. There are numerous activities
and sights in Victoria, the Royal British Columbia Museum, the Royal
London Wax Museum, the Parliament Buildings, Crystal Gardens, the
harbour, Butchart Gardens, Oak Bay Marina, or take in a horse-drawn
carriage ride.
Travel north of Victoria on the scenic Island Highway to the oceanside
town of Parksville. You may want to stop at sights along the way
such as Goldstream Park, the little town of Chemainus, Cowichan
Bay or Nanaimo. Parksville boasts a long sandy beach with a tide
that goes out forever. We can book you into a beautiful spot overlooking
the Pacific Ocean. Activities around Parksville include golf, a
4x4 van tour of the local forests' flora and fauna, spelunking (caving)
and more.
West of Parksville is the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island
and the Pacific Rim National Park. Along the scenic drive to the
west coast, stop at Coombs with its quaint shops and goats on the
roof, Qualicum Falls, or Cathedral Grove with its giant cedar trees.
Activities on the west coast are too numerous to list. You could
go on hikes, kayaking trips, canoe trips, whale watching trips,
golfing, fishing or just enjoy beautiful Long Beach.
Return to Parksville. Take a trip north along the scenic Island
Highway to the port town of Campbell River. Campbell River is named
the "Salmon Capital of the World". The area is rich in
Aboriginal heritage. Visit the Wei Wai Kum house of Treasures where
you may purchase authentic native art. Enjoy fantastic fishing,
wildlife viewing or take a scenic floatplane tour of the area.
A
10 minute ferry ride from Campbell River you will discover Quadra
Island, one of the Discovery Islands. Explore beautiful Quadra Island
by mountain bike, kayak, or hiking the many trails.
You may return to the Vancouver area from Victoria or Nanaimo by
ferry, from Victoria by floatplane, or travel to Comox and take
the ferry via the picturesque Sunshine Coast.
The Sunshine Coast seems like a series of islands, for the only
access to this area is via two ferries, from Comox to Langdale and
from Gibsons to Horseshoe Bay. There are many inlets along the mainland
coastline without road access, therefore, the only access is by
ferry. The Sunshine Coast is as it's name suggests, beautiful coastline,
sunny skies, and quaint little towns dot the coastline. Possible
activities in the area are a cruise up the scenic Princess Louisa
Inlet, kayaking, viewing the Skookumchuk Rapids, hiking, diving,
and golfing. The Sunshine Coast is known for its great kayaking
and diving areas. The harbour of Gibsons Landing is a great place
for a bite to eat, shopping or kayaking.
