This holiday is a dazzling fourteen-day tour by rail and car. Enjoy the view as you travel from the Pacific Ocean to the Rocky Mountains, some of the most beautiful sights of Western Canada. Arrive in Vancouver, BC where you will begin your exploration of Vancouver and Vancouver Island. Vancouver is also your departure point for the "Most spectacular Train trip in the world", a luxury train trip that takes you through the most scenic areas of Canada through the Rocky Mountains to Jasper, Alberta. Explore the Rocky Mountains for 5 days by car, from Banff to Jasper with the final destination in Calgary.
Day 1 Vancouver
Arrive in Vancouver where you will transfer to your hotel and relax or explore British Columbia's largest city.
Day 2 Vancouver
Today you will enjoy a morning Vancouver City Tour. Highlights include Stanley Park, English Bay, Queen Elizabeth Park, Granville Island, and the Lookout. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Night at Vancouver.
Day 3 Vancouver-Victoria
Pick up your rental car and drive to the ferry to board for your trip to Victoria . Enjoy the picturesque 1-½ hour ferry ride to Vancouver Island. Explore the city and view the Butchart Gardens, Empress Hotel and Parliament Buildings at night. Overnight Victoria.
Day 4 Victoria
Enjoy the many sights of Victoria with its British colonial heritage. There are numerous activities within walking distance of downtown. Optional activities are a visit to the Royal London Wax Museum, the Parliament Buildings, Royal British Columbia Museum and Crystal Gardens or take in a horse-drawn carriage ride. Overnight in Victoria.
Day 5 Victoria - Ucluelet (3 ½ hrs)
On this day you will travel to the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island. Along the scenic drive to the west coast, stop at Coombs with its quaint shops and goats on the roof or Cathedral Grove with its giant cedar trees. Continue on to Ucluelet where your West Coast accommodations await you.
Day 6 Pacific Rim National Park
Activities on the west coast are too numerous to list. You could go on hikes, kayaking trips, canoe trips, fishing or just enjoy beautiful Long Beach. Included with your stay is a whale watching trip*. Overnight West Coast.
Day 7 Pacific Rim National Park-Parksville (2 hrs)
Travel back to the east coast of Vancouver Island. Stop at Parksville where you can have a game of golf, go caving, take a rainforest sightseeing trip or enjoy the afternoon on beautiful Rathtrevor Beach. Overnight at oceanside accommodations.
Day 8 Parksville - Nanaimo -Vancouver (1 ½ hrs driving time)
Enjoy the picturesque ferry ride back to Vancouver. Return your rental car. Night in Vancouver.
Day 9 Vancouver - Kamloops (Rocky Mountain Railtour**)
Today you will board the Rocky Mountain Railtour, the "Most spectacular train trip in the world." You will enjoy non-stop scenery while you are well taken care of on board the train. Night in Kamloops. You may want to enjoy the Two River Junction dinner theatre showing a little bit of Kamloops history.
Day 10 Kamloops - Calgary (Rocky Mountain Railtour)
Enjoy the trip through the majestic Rocky Mountains to Calgary, Alberta through the majestic Rocky Mountains. You will end your Rocky Mountain Railtour in Calgary where your comfortable accommodations awaits you.
Day 11 Calgary - Banff (2 hrs)
Pick up your rental car and drive the short distance to Banff. Enjoy the sights and sound of Banff. Banff boasts beautiful hikes, views, and wildlife. You may want to take a trip to Lake Louise with its breathtaking views and beautiful Chateau. Night at Banff.
Day 12 Banff - Jasper (4 hrs)
Drive leisurely through the most spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains. Stop at the Columbia Icefields and Athabasca Falls to name a few of the numerous sights to see along the Icefields Parkway. Arrive in Jasper and enjoy your stay in this mountain resort town.
Day 13 Jasper
Enjoy Jasper National Park. Activities include hiking, sightseeing, Jasper Tramway, whitewater rafting, Miette Hot Springs and more. Overnight Jasper.
Day 14 Jasper - Calgary (5 ½ hrs).
Today you will drive from Jasper to Calgary. Drop off your rental car. The Rocky Mountain Adventure by rail is at an end.*May be substituted with a fishing or wildlife cruise
