Chilcotin Holidays will match you to the group according to abilities and group dynamics.

This is the ultimate wilderness adventure! Your 6-day holiday will see you riding into the backcountry like an explorer, pack horses in tow. Travel the mountains in nomadic style, seeing new scenery each day. Follow game trails, cross rivers and glaciers, and ride through valleys echoing with the whistles of scurrying marmots. Enjoy open-air lunches with the world's best views. Extend your holiday to a 9 day package* on this wonderful wilderness adventure.

Day 1 Vancouver - Chilcotin (4 ½ hrs)
The Chilcotin Express, a maxi-van that will transport you to your wilderness holiday, will pick you up at your hotel. After your arrival, there is a lot to do to prepare for your trip. Care will be taken in matching you with your Cayuse horse and saddle, and all the "kinks" will be worked out during your extensive orientation to western mountain riding. That evening, maps and itineraries need reviewing, and you will have help packing your personal duffel bag. Then, it's early to bed in anticipation of an early morning departure from the Ranch.

Day 2-3 Alpine Camps
During your high alpine adventure, you'll see sweeping mountaintop vistas, turquoise green glaciers and snow caves. Abundant wildlife, including mountain goats, Bighorn sheep, mule deer, moose, wolf, Grizzlies and black bear, are viewed through high-powered scopes. There's even plenty of time for fishing (licenses available on site), gold panning, and exploring ancient geological features. If your main interest is fishing, let us know and we'll plan for your overnight accommodation at our Spruce Lake Camp. The Lake teems with a natural population of native rainbow trout. Accommodation is in permanent alpine camp(s).

Day 4 Chilcotin - Vancouver (4 ½ hrs escorted)
Arrive back at the Ranch. After lunch, the Chilcotin Express will take you back to your Vancouver accommodations.

*7 day package: similar to above itinerary adding on three more days. Two more nights at alpine camps, a night at the Ranch and the last morning is spent participating in bareback lessons, a horse drive, horse logging demonstrations or target practise. After lunch, the Chilcotin Express will take you back to your Vancouver accommodations.
