Experience the best of BC's capital city, Victoria, the picturesque
Oceanside town of Parksville, and the beautiful Sunshine Coast.
Day 1. Vancouver
Arrive Vancouver. Pick up your rental car and
drive to your hotel. Enjoy the sights and sounds of British Columbia's
largest city. Overnight Vancouver.
Day 2 Vancouver - Victoria
Drive to Tsawassen and board a BC Ferry for a breathtaking 1 1/2 hour
ride to Schwartz Bay. A short drive takes you to beautiful Victoria,
BC's capital city. Enjoy the rest of the day in Victoria. Admire the
Empress Hotel and Parliament Buildings by night. Overnight Victoria.
Day 3. Victoria
Enjoy the many sights of Victoria with its British colonial heritage.
Included in your package are entrance fees to the impressive Royal
British Columbia Museum and the beautiful Butchart Gardens, a must
see for anyone visiting Victoria. Optional activities are a trolley
tour or horse-drawn carriage ride of Victoria, a visit to Beacon Hill
Park, Crystal Gardens or the Royal London Wax Museum to name a few
of the sights. Overnight Victoria.
Day 4 Victoria-Pacific Rim National Park (3 ½ hrs)
Take the picturesque drive to the West Coast of Vancouver Island.
Along the way, you may want to stop at Coombs, with its quaint shops
and famous goats on the roof, Cathedral Grove, with its giant cedars,
or scenic Little Qualicum Falls. Overnight at your West Coast accommodations.
Day 5 Pacific Rim National Park
The full day is yours to enjoy at Pacific Rim National Park. Numerous
hikes, golf, kayaking, 4x4 adventures, canoeing, bear watching and
more can be enjoyed in this beautiful area. Night on the West Coast.
Day 6 Pacific Rim National Park
Enjoy Vancouver Island's West Coast. You may want to choose an optional
Hot Springs Tour on board a 65' Lady Selkirk boat for a "Dip
of a lifetime." Your trip starts with a one and a half hour boat
ride to Hot Springs Cove, a 1.2 km walk through the lush rainforest
and 2 hours to soak in the natural hot springs. Enjoy the afternoon
at beautiful long beach, a surfer's delight. Night on the West Coast.
Day 7 Pacific Rim -Parksville
Drive east to Parksville. Stroll along Rathtrevor Beach with its beautiful
white sand and a tide that goes out forever. Night in Parksville.
Day 8 Parksville
Relax at the beautiful seaside resort town of Parksville. Enjoy the
beach or a round of golf. Take the opportunity for an optional exhilarating
trip spelunking (cave exploration) on the Family Riverbend Trip or
on a Black Diamond Tour*. Night in Parksville.
Day 9 Parksville-Sunshine
Coast
Drive a 1/2 hour from Parksville to Comox along the scenic Island
Hwy. Take the 1 hour, 20 minute ferry to Powell River, on BC's mainland
coast. There are many inlets along the mainland coastline with no
roads, therefore, the only access is by ferry. Enjoy your view as
you travel south to Saltery Bay and then by a 50 minute ferry crossing
to Earls Cove. Drive to your Sunshine Coast accommodations.
Day 10 Sunshine Coast
Enjoy your stay on the beautiful Sunshine Coast.The Sunshine Coast,
as it's name suggests, has beautiful coastlines, sunny skies, and
quaint little towns that dot the coastline. Activities are diving,
kayaking, hiking, golfing and viewing the Skookumchuk Rapids. The
harbour of Gibsons Landing is a great place for a bite to eat, shopping
or kayaking.
Day
11 Sunshine Coast
Enjoy a scenic cruise up the Princess Louisa Inlet (included).
Princess Louisa Inlet, a magnificent granite-walled gorge was cut
by an ice-glacier of millenniums past. The inlet, almost completely
enclosed, is never over 800 metres (1/2 mile) wide in its eight-kilometre
(five-mile) length.The snow-tipped mountains rise sharply from the
water's edge to heights in excess of 2100 metres (7000 feet). Beautiful
Chatterbox Falls at the head of the inlet tumbles 40 metres (120 feet)
into the water. Overnight Sunshine Coast
Day
12 Sunshine Coast-Vancouver
Drive to Langdale where you will catch the short (50 minute)
ferry ride to Horseshoe Bay. Another 1 1/2 hour's drive will take
you to Vancouver International Airport. Return your rental car and
enjoy your trip home. Your Pacific Coastal Journey is at an end.

You may substitute fishing for a whale watching trip.
** Board a catamaran for a 2 1/2 hour cruise where you may see a variety
of local scenery and marine life up close such as whales, dolphins,
sea lions, seals, eagles and black bears. A stop at a local fish farm
is an added bonus. Lunch is served at Morgan's Landing Resort for
a true west coast meal. Enjoy the scenery from the air on a floatplane
trip back to Campbell River. Tour conducted on Saturdays only. May
be done in reverse.
